Court Concludes Review of Evidence in the Case of Yaryna Aryeva: Prosecution Seeks 6-Year Sentence

The court has concluded its review of the evidence in the case of Yaryna Aryeva, the daughter of Verkhovna Rada MP from Petro Poroshenko's faction, Volodymyr Aryev. Two years ago, she hit a woman at a pedestrian crossing while under the influence of drugs.

According to the publication Law and Business, the prosecution will request a sentence of 6 years of imprisonment, along with an additional 8-year driving ban.

Charges and Legal Context

Aryeva is being charged under Part 2 of Article 286¹ of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: "Driving under the influence of intoxicants, resulting in severe consequences."

The accident occurred two years ago at a pedestrian crossing in Kyiv. The victim sustained serious injuries that have significantly impacted her life.

Scandals Within the Aryev Family

The accused's father, Volodymyr Aryev, has also been embroiled in controversy. Polish law enforcement previously caught him attempting to smuggle narcotics from the Netherlands. The case was handed over to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General's Office, but its further progress remains unclear.
