Wife of Lviv Prosecutor Lists Property Bought for Less Than 1 Million UAH at 6 Million UAH

Lesya Drobot, the 46-year-old wife of Lviv prosecutor Andriy Lekhush, has listed for sale a plot of land with a house for 6 million UAH. The property was purchased just two months ago for less than 1 million UAH.

Property Details

The property in question is a plot of land in the village of Bryukhovychi, covering nearly 0.13 hectares. Drobot became the owner of the land in October 2023, acquiring it for 883,300 UAH (approximately $21,500 at the NBU exchange rate). This price is significantly below the commercial value of land in this suburban area of Lviv.

Drobot purchased two adjacent plots from another prosecutor, Dmytro Klos, a native of the area who currently works for the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Price Spike and Sale Listing

Just two months after the purchase, the Lviv real estate agency XHouse listed both plots for sale at $145,000 (approximately 6.06 million UAH at the NBU exchange rate). The listings appeared on platforms such as OLX and RIA, sparking public interest and scrutiny.

Financial Discrepancies

Questions have been raised about how Drobot managed to acquire such valuable property, even at a reduced price, given her declared income. According to her husband’s asset declaration, Drobot earned only 204,200 UAH last year and an additional 43,200 UAH from the sale of property. Her husband, 44-year-old Andriy Lekhush, serves as the Deputy Head of the Department for Supervising Compliance with Laws by Agencies Fighting Organized Crime at the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. His official salary last year amounted to 1.2 million UAH.

Public Concerns

The sale has raised suspicions of possible corruption and misuse of connections within the prosecutorial community. The significant increase in the property’s price within such a short period has fueled concerns about the origins of the funds used for its purchase and the integrity of the transactions.

Observers are calling for a thorough investigation to ensure transparency and accountability, particularly given the involvement of public officials and their families.
